What a Wonderful Word Wednesday: Penultimate

What a Wonderful Word Wednesday: Penultimate

I suppose I should have chosen this wonderful word two weeks ago, since that was the penultimate Wednesday in September, but we will simply have to try and make do! Penultimate, as I’m sure you already know, is today’s wonderful word. Penultimate is an adjective meaning: occurring right before the last one.

Putting that Wonderful Word to Work!

“Have you ever met Polly Peters? Penultimate Polly, that’s what everyone calls her. Why? Oh, it’s quite logical, in a most unlikely sort of way. You see, Polly was born on November 29, 1999 at 12:59 p.m. Penultimate month, day, year, and minute. Kinda peculiar, wouldn’t you say? Oh! And she ended up being the sixth of seven children. She IS Penultimate Polly. Any other name just doesn’t seem suitable.”
