Apple and Pear, Watercolor and Ink

Here are a couple ink and watercolor pieces I made this week. They were my first attempts at combining ink and color. I have been fiddling around with calligraphy for a few months and I am quite new to the dip pen, so I know there is plenty of room for improvement! I also still need to perfect my method for soaking and stretching the watercolor paper. Both pieces warped more than I liked, and the apple piece had some ink streaking. Nonetheless, I’m quite pleased with the overall aesthetic and a lot of the lettering came out to my liking! Eventually, I’d like to make and frame a series of these for my kitchen.
